I would prefer a aduly only but its not mandatory. I would like a resort to be beach front, have a swim up bar, have nice clean rooms and be walkable to bars and restaurant I'm not sure if I'm asking too much. I had originlly wanted to go to cabo but 2 of the resorts I wanted to stay in had their pool being closed next month, so I cancled that trip. Please let me know, i've seen the reviews for Cotinental emporio and Fiesta Americana. Let me know if there are any all adult resorts.
There are a couple that come to mind. One is Villa Vera. It has everything you want except the beach front. I've stayed there a few times, and I have never missed the beach. It's on a mountainside. It has a swimup bar. The grounds are beautiful. It's walkable down to the bars, but we always cab it back as it's on a steep incline going up! Need has stayed many more times than me, so he'll give you more details. Another adults only is Las Brisas.
However, it doesn't have a swimup bar, but it does have private pools for 2 guests, or semi-private for 2 rooms together in casitas.
Incredible views. Close to town, but use cabs due to the fact it's on a mountain highway. Due to the fact you are going in September, though, there shouldn't be too many kids anywhere during the week as school goes back into session. Weekends could have more kids, though, due to the close proximity of Mexico City and lots of people visit from there during the weekends.
If not too many kids bother you and you're set on beachfront, I'd consider both of your choices. I don't know of any adults-only hotels in Acapulco. I believe the Emporio has an adults-only pool and both that and the Fiesta America are good choices. But having said that, I know it's 'rare' that you'd find children at either Las Brisas or the Villa Vera. Back to your original inquiry [being 'on the beach', if at all possible] I'd choose the Emporio over the Americana, in your case, given that they do have an adults-only pool in addition to their lazy-river pool, at which children are welcomed.
