One of the nicest hotels in Port of Spain. Safe, clean, and friendly. Although the menu was My first experience at Spa Esencia was exceptional- had an extremely soothing swedish massage. We went to the Hyatt as a bridal party girls bridal shower group with each of us having spa treatments. Our hostess - also the manager of the spa told us that we'd each get our own rooms and that they don't do lockers at the spa but instead give each person a room with a closet for our belongings.
I put my handbag in the chair. Stacey immediately said, "No, put your things in the closet". The closet was next to the door to the room. The closet was simply covered by a velvet curtain. I thought it was odd that she asked me to put my stuff in there, why not just leave it on the chair beside me??
BUT, I put my handbag in the closet. The massage began, I was face down, and mid-way, Stacey goes to the adjoining washroom saying she has to wet some cloth. Instantly I became suspicious! I semi-sat up trying to listen - all I heard was the water running in the washroom and the way the massage table was facing, I couldn't see the bathroom at all nor the closet!
I tried not to be the suspicious traveler and laid back down. Stacey returned after a while. The massage continued. During the massage Stacey asked: "Do you live in Trinidad?
After the treatment was over, Stacey left, saying she'd be back after I put on my robe etc and asked if I wanted anything to drink. I asked for hot water. She left, and a few minutes later someone knocked on the door - and this other lady came in with my water and said Stacey was just attending to something but would see me back outside.
