It's a silly campaign with a serious message and if there's one thing people can take away it's that they can make a difference to protect their nation's birds. The results of the competition were announced on Tuesday morning, with the kea taking the title of the Bird of the Year for The large green mountain parrot received more than 7, votes to put it in first place. This was followed by the kereru with 4, votes, and the kakapo with 2, votes.
