There are too many Thai massage parlours here with girls that stand out in the street looking like hookers. Thus if you are an Oriental female and walk here , the men will stare at you wondering if you are a new addition at some of those sleaze joints. Avoid and head to the Central Market for souvenirs instead.
Nothing redeeming about the place. Cannot understand why any serious traveler would have an interest in this street. It is not worth to spend any time in the street. It has just become a tourists trap. There are more interesting streets to visit in Budapest. We visited Budapest in March, and walked up and down a major shopping street called Vaci Utca. It basically has the same shops that stock the usual souvenirs that travelers buy to bring home.
Full of people and crowded but unless you are into this type of thing no need to go here. There are two Vaci Utca's in Budapest so be sure you get the right one.
The Vaci pedestrian area is a fun, high energy location with all kinds of shops offering typical tourist kachka at inflated prices. But it is a fun walk with lots of people mostly tourists and ends at the City Central Market. There are tons of cafes along the way. And if you are staying in the center city and don't walk back, the 2 tram will get you there. All the street shopping are largely the same souvenir shops And for some of the branded shops u could go to a mall like westend mall The restaurants on this street are greedy n waiting to attack on tourists.
