If you want to be alone with the captain I am sure that can be done too. I know some would not take a lone woman.
The Nile bank is your toilet. You will be fertilizing the crops on the banks. I don't know the best moths, but the best season is probably winter November-March , otherwise it's very hot. You can easily find a felucca in Assuan and sail downriver to Luxor in about days. I don't know prices, because I haven't been in Egypt since , but one thing is sure, you must bargain hard! It's completely safe, you'll be even registered by the police, it's compulsory! It'll be expensive.
Anyway captains usually wait for a few passangers to form a small group. It'll be very easy to find other travellers to do the same trip! You're woman, so only go alone if you don't want to complain later that you were raped and such nonsense. In Egypt everybody seems to know what a woman wants if she's going on a multi-day felucca trip alone I think there's no need to mention that you'll be the only woman aboard, captain and crew are all man!
