They never seem to have any trouble attracting girls where ever they go. Of course they're expecting to meet Cuban girls in Varadero too and want to know if it would be okay to invite them onto the resort. We'll be staying at the Barcelo Solymar.
I don't really know what to tell them about this. Does anyone know if it would be a problem? Of course not, but the OPer's query is NOT the usual situation where you're inviting Cuban friends who you know to join you. If I went to I would not allow my kids to invite "friends of the opposite sex" back to the hotel. Cuba would be no different. Although it can be done, does not mean it should be done. BUT, some parents parent differently and that would be their choice.
The legal age of consent in Cuba is 16 yo. This subject was brought to my attention years back when the first oil for education children were coming to Cuba from Venezuela to go to school. Hey not a problem I'll be keeping my 3 bruisers on a short leash. They're good boys and always respectful of everyone. As long as they know the rules I have no worries.
As I mentioned earlier, they won't be bringing Cuban girls onto the resort with a day pass And as far as meeting Cuban girls off the resort, I'll make sure they're properly briefed on what to expect, things to watch out for, and things that are simply unacceptable. We always have high expectations of them and so far they haven't let us down.
But the ole boy will be keeping an eye on them just the same. They know the drill. Good on you for doing all this pre-trip research. I'm sure your family will have a great time! Better to go prepared for any eventuality is my feeling I'm sure I haven't come near to covering everything yet. Especially when you're trying to stay one step ahead of your kids.
