After almost 7 years since i have last left my beloved country of ireland. I have decided that life is short and that rather then waiting around for things to happen i must make them happen so i have finally decided to be courageous and travel solo for the first time in my life!
Iam feeling a bit overwhelmed with regards booking everything myself however and iam clueless in general as this is a whole new and scary experience for me!
So far i have decided that i will travel in Feb and will stay in costa rica for a total of 2 weeks! What are your thoughts on this guys? Would it play out well? Any changes you would make or advice in general? On a side note! If anyone else is travelling around this time feb particularly if your doing so solo then i would love to hear from you. What are your plans? Have you been before etc It would also be great if i could build up a friendship with potential travellers and maybe meet up out there?
You've got too many destinations for 2 weeks, and you haven't alloted enough time for travel between places. It's true Costa Rica is a small country. But it's full of high mountain ranges and the roads don't go in straight lines to get from place to place. For instance, it'd be troublesome to go between Tortuguero and Arenal in one day's time. Then on the Pacific side of the country, use your time for Arenal plus a beach place like Tamarindo or Samara on the Nicoya peninsula. Manuel Antonio is a tiny place that's just totally over run with tourists.
The beach is really small. Is that a bad thing though I dont want to feel lonely at any time despite being alone I would of thought places with lots of tourists are gonna be more social for mixing with people and arguably safer places too?? Surely the journey from Tortuguero to Cahutita is far worse then Tortuguero to Arenal?
