We enjoyed our stay here. We were met at the train station and transferred to the hotel for free. Our room was large,clean and comfortable and quiet too. We ate here a few times and the food and service was really good.
Contrary to what the previous reviwer says , we found staff to be friendly. The manager even escorted us to the bus stop to ensure we caught the correct bus. The manager does smoke in the traditional manner through a thing which looks like a bong - but he assures us it is normal tobacco - it just happens to be the economical way to smoke here. We would happily stay here again.
I have to agree that Mr Luong gets aggressively charged when things don't go his way. We got scooped up by him upon exiting our bus when we arrived in Ninh Binh.
From the get go he had this arrogant chip on his shoulder and showed us all these positive reviews on paper and gloated about his hotel being a 2 star in the same regard as if he were talking about a 4 star.
The rooms were decorated in old furniture and had old stiff beds, but we were tired and ten bucks a night for a room with hot water sounded just right. Clearly, he gave us the worst room he had rm that smelled of sewage water and was the farthest away from the WiFi router as we could get. The room was on the side of the building that was most exposed to the sounds of traffic and on going honking into the night.
