We had an amazing time at Ba Be Lake. The hosts are so friendly and the food is really really good! Its a wonderful atmosphere in the homestay. Thank you! And if you like to hike, they can recommand you a great english tour guide. We had a wonderful time at Thuan's homestay. The location is unreal, a small village sourrounded by mountains, rice fields and a wonderful lake: except for the rice fields, this is unblemished nature at its best.
You can't possibly get bored of such a view. Service was impeccable and worth way more than what we actually paid for it. We spent 6 days there, which I'm told is longer than the average stay, but didn't get bored at all. If we ever come back, we'd definitely go back to Thuan's place! Great place to stay near Ba Be lake, the room is small but cozy, the bathroom and toilet is very clean. The view from the homestay is amazing, the host is very helpful as well. I love the food they prepare for us.
Atmosphere of the homestay is great as well. Give them 5 stars for the service and room quality. It is comfortable quiet and fun. Please enjoy!! Can't ask for much more. It is difficult to describe Ba Be quickly. However, my girlfriend and I found it If you're contemplating whether to visit, well we can tell you it is probably the most memorable part of our trip. Our stay with Mr. Son and his family was lovely - they go out of their way to make you feel at home, Mrs. Son is a wonderful cook and I strongly recommend her cooking - we ate dinner with them every night and it was some of the best food I ate in Vietnam.
Otherwise, this is not a state of the art 5star hotel - it is a comfortable home. The aircon is good, wifi is good, there's hot water.
You can also ask Mr. Son to take you exploring the lake and visit several sites, he more or less goes at your pace, and the price is very reasonable. It's definitely worth it. There are also motorcycles available for rent, and the traffic is nothing like the cities, so you can confidently explore the area, which is another great adventure by itself.
