I am a Thai from Bangkok. I have been to this place many many times, and absolutely loves it. I love it because it's not like any other typical tourist destinations ie: Phuket, Samui, Pattaya, etc This area is still very pristine, and I do hope it stays that way.
The staff here are very friendly ok, their English may not be perfect For me, it's a great little package for a very competitive price.
I managed to get the last room at this resort on my way back home from Phuket to Najomtien. The biggest asset of this resort is it's secluded location at the end of the Tung Wua Laen Beach south of Chumphon. The resort has direct beach access and even the buildings and cabanas with the rooms lay some hunderd meter away from the ocean, the reception area and the dining facilites have a splendid outlook to the sea.
As I hoped I got a first floor ground level room in the nearby wing to the reception. The room is far from luxe, but have all the necessities of a good 3 star hotel: fridge with drinking water, Television set with satellite TV and some foreign channels and a bahtroom wit toilet and shower you seldom ask for a bathtube in Thailand and of course AC. The room was spacious and clean and everything was working fine. It worked fine, but sitting there at sunset or at dawn means you have to apply some moskito repellent so you are not eaten up by the mosquitos before you checked mail and facebook.
Unfortunately also the small hotel shop with the collection of basics like botteled drinks, shampoo, toileteries and local souvenirs and products there is a very nice coffee grown in the area was already closed after 6pm so I had to buy my late night cap at the bar of the seaside restaurant. Also for late arrivals there is no chance to do a refreshing dip in the large and nice hotel pool. After dark, also the pool area is dark and swimming there is not recommended. Be aware, that the resort is very popular with Bangkok weekenders it's a good 6hrs drive from the city down there and in high season you better book your room in advance by phone or through one of the multiple booking platforms.
