Contact Admin. So we just arrived to Ko Samui and went out to the "main bar area" and it felt like it was all prostitution. We are pretty close to the airport on the north east of the island staying off Moo 3 and it was a bit of a walk there but that seemed to be the only spot where bars were still open.
I'm not saying they really bothered me. I just didn't know it was like this here. Just looking for suggestions for some other areas that might be a little less prostitution. Trust me, I don't shock easily just surprised. Chaweng is the main nightlife area, if you want quieter then head to Bophut , Maenam , South Chaweng, Chaweng Noi , Lamai avoiding the girly bars , Choeng Mon - there is only a small part where you will see Lady Boys and 'hookers' hanging out, mainly around Central Chaweng.
Doesn't bother me, they are mostly nice girls just trying to earn a living, they are mostly respectful especially if you are an obvious couple. I am sorry that you felt that it was all working girls and boys, it is however not my experience. Most girls and ladyboys are still in the clubs at 2am! The biggest issue at 2am is very drunk tourists!
You will find more from around 4am when Sound or Green Mango closes! If you move away from Soi Green Mango area, you will find many bars open. Bar Solo is good fun, and to be honest, so are the bars and clubs along Soi Green Mango - you can see the fun bars and the bars that are their for 'working'.
Many nice looking or sophisticated bars will have girls 'associated' with them if you ask, but many are very subtle, and many bars are not! Surprising you find working girls [of all genders] in most bars all around the island. I have always had the best fun with the ladyboys and working girls - what you have to remember is that doing this for many is their only choice to earn!
