The program has a little bit of everything regardless of whether you are interested in being a generalist, academics, or fellowship. The strong sense of community among residents and faculty drew me to this program. I was blown away by the exceptional training offered here as well as the unique blend of community and academic medicine. Camping, hiking, going to different breweries, traveling when there's not a global pandemic , yoga, music festivals, Harry Potter, Avenger movies".
Being a new intern is overwhelming and hectic, but every person from the residents and fellows, to the attendings and faculty have been kind and helpful. They have made the transition easy and made me feel comfortable in this new role. We also have a lot of fun together! Inside and outside of work, these are already some of my favorite people! Louis, hiking in Castlewood State Park, running and going to Orange Theory, and hanging out with my friends and co-residents.
PGY3 case presentation: "Massive postpartum hemorrhage resulting in Cesarean hysterectomy secondary to exaggerated placental site reaction", August My co-residents are smart, driven, supportive, and hilarious. I genuinely look forward to coming to work everyday because I love this job and the people who I am surrounded by. Career interests: I decided to pursue a career in OBGYN for the patient population, continuity of care, and variety the field has to offer.
I love teaching and working in an academic setting. I plan on either becoming a generalist or possibly pursuing MFM fellowship. My co residents are my favorite part of being a SLU resident. You are given autonomy to grow and learn, but there are always a number of people to help when you need it.
