It was detected at my 12 week scan, I had bled on the saturday, and my 12 week scan was that monday. I had, had a miscarriage Mar 99, so I assumed I was having another one. By the september my HCG levels had returned to normal, so from reading your experience, and from others I have come across I know I was lucky.
Tho devastating at the time, I found it reassuring to be be given a reason as to why the pregnancy didnt work. Ive had 2 other miscarriages and in both case have just been a statistic, usual 1 in 3 pregnancies result in loss etc. It was very hard at the time to get any information and I mainly used the website address used given to me by the cliincal co-ordinator. Following the birth of my 3 children my placenta was sent to Charing Cross Hospital , London, for analysis, and I also had routine blood tests.
