But upon arrival, they discover someone else is tying to prevent it from happening. But did it live up to expectation? And did the show do a good job of recreating Alabama in ? Historical episodes have a hard job as they have to reflect the time period that they are set in accurately and also incorporate a Doctor Who twist into them.
Some episodes accomplish this better than others. In terms of Rosa , this one is one of the ones that manage to do extremely well, and as a result is easily the best episode of the series thus far. The opening scene of the episode which showed Rosa getting berated at by driver James Blake for getting in the wrong door was a really good tease for the main action of the episode which it would to at the end of the episode. Another thing that impressed me pretty much straight away was how well that they managed to recreate the setting of Alabama.
It looked visually stunning, which was keeping it up with how well the series had looked thus far. It just looked absolutely beautiful, and helped tell the story well.
Was quite hard to watch at times, especially with Ryan and Yaz bearing the brunt of it. But even though there was bad stuff, there was still a positive message put across. The bit at the end when The Doctor was filling her friends in on what happened to Rosa post that moment in was quite nice.
Ryan and Yaz discuss how racism has changed during the years. In what seems to be becoming a regular occurrence throughout the series, the characters in this were really good.
