The year-old serial con woman had allegedly cheated 12 people of over SGD , in total in various scams. Manoharan had cheated a man of SGD 57, by making different claims. She had claimed that she needed to pay for a transaction relating to an apartment under the public scheme of the Housing Board, and that both her daughter and son had died, as per a PTI report.
As per The Straits Times newspaper, Manoharan had also conned by faking her death, pretending to be a lawyer, and sending out bogus invoices for outstanding legal fees. In other other cases, the woman conned by creating fake WhatsApp chat records, purportedly between her and a hospital staff member, to convince her victim that she was in urgent and desperate need of money urgently for paying medical fees.
Manoharan continued cheating people. Earlier this year, two of her victims were duped of SGD 11, On June 20, Manoharan pleaded guilty to six charges, including multiple counts of cheating and rental of rooms in her apartment, the PTI report said.
