The Library supports the educational programs of the Rabbinic School, the School of Education, and the School of Sacred Music, as well as the specific research needs of their faculties. It also meets the Judaic research, cultural and information needs of the students and faculty of New York University; scholars in the New York area and, by means of interlibrary loan, outside of New York; the national staffs of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations and the Central Conference of American Rabbis; and the New York Area community.
The mission of the Library system of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion is to collect, preserve and provide access to the record of Jewish thought and experience throughout the ages and to related fields and disciplines.
