Hi there, we use cookies to improve your experience on our website. You can update your settings by clicking the Privacy policy link at the bottom of the page. We are two Finns who just came back from Moldova. In Chisinau we stayed at hotel Cosmos and we can very warmly recommend their travel services in all your needs when visiting the country. Even if you're not staying there, I'm sure they will help you - and the costs are not too bad! They took care of everything and you can always trust that things go as agreed, with a precice timetable.
Day trips, excursions, airport transfer etc. The hotel is also easily visited by walking, right in the centre of the city at Negruzzi Square. I thank you very much for your hint. I will stay there Hotel Cosmos in about 4 weeks and its good to read that they are ok.
Thanx a lot. Thanks to my stay in Hotel Cosmos and the excellent service, I was able to visit all the places I wanted to during my short stay in Moldova. I have nice memories of my trip to Moldova. I stayed there in and it was a typical former Soviet hotel fulfilling all according cliches and unless it has been completely refurbished, I wonder a bit about the positive reviews. I positively recall the completely drunk barkeeper in the hotel bar somewhere on the higher floors who couldn't talk any more and poured free drinks - and the two prostitutes - one tall and skinny, one short and bold - who always popped up there when we had a good night's drink there.
Asked why they were so expensive, they said that it was a three-star hotel, so they had three-star services and hence three-star prices. Hotel Cosmos IS a typical Soviet building with rather gloomy corridors, but the rooms have been refurbished and have all basic facilities. Mattoni, the problems you describe are very different to my experience. Maybe the management has changed since I had low expectations of my visit to Moldova and I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and helpfulness of the people, starting from the immigration officer who said welcome to me after stamping my passport!
And I do not look European and I do not look rich. Maybe attitudes towards visitors have changed since All I can say is that last week I enjoyed my trip to Moldova. Sure, do not get me wrong - it IS a soviet era hotel - and by NO means is it in fancy condition.
