Robles worked in Louisiana and in August, came to Brownsville to visit his family.
It was during the weekend visit he decided to see his friend in Matamoros. Robles told his mom he was going to Matamoros and planned to come back.
His family assumed he was out with friends, because he had plans to see other people. It was when none of his friends heard from him that his family began to worry. They filed a police report with the Brownsville Police Department. But being an international matter, it's out of the department's jurisdiction.
