I really do not want to write this review, but I really should, so I am going to. My laptop was stolen at the hostel. We were able to figure out who took it, but since the hostel did not verify any ID on the guy we were unable to obtain his real name and therefore police had no way to track him down. The place is very unprofessionally managed, and only has one person in the office for about six hours a day. There was loud construction almost every single day I was there.
Even someone drilling into my wall in the morning. The management permits an "escort service" to sell their services to male guests at the hostel.
And yes, they apparently use the hostel private rooms. I had several days during my stay where there was no hot water and I had to endure cold showers. Also sometimes water would run out during my shower. The bathrooms are not cleaned very well and the one next to my room smelled like urine. The hostel was cold the entire time I was there, even when it would get warm outside.
Also, there was the smell of dampness and mold in the room. Needless to say, I will never stay there again. On my last trip to Ensenada I needed a place to stay as my daughter's new house wasnt ready yet.
She just moved into a house near Playa Hermosa and ALL the hotels close by were full as there were a couple big events that weekend. Luckily one hotel owner told me about a new place down the street Ordinarily I wouldnt stay in a Hostel but I was desperate. Much to my delight this place was great!!! It is very very clean and bright and super secure.
