April 17, by Celia. As time is running short for the city tour….. Vilnius is a really walkable town!! First i went to the Gates of Dawn. I awed! This is the real thing!!! On the right is the St. Teresa Church…. This is just another amazing philharmonic house…… it looks like the peninsula hotel in HK….
I am really interested in coming back to this place again for a concert rather than a bath at the peninsula…despite u can overlook the harbour…. I guess this hotel should be good too! Then i walked along a small alley ……Sv. Kazimiero gatve…. To the Vilnius Defence Wall Bastion..!
I dont have enough time to go around the place. It is actually called the Independent Republic of Uzipas… Read something about the place that it was originally Jewish neighborhood, it was empties by the Germans and became the center of prostitution and general debauchery throughout the German occupation. Well no idea if this place is politcally like Vatican, Uzupis has their own flag, laws, passport….
Hilariously… the day of independent of Uzupis is on April fools day… probably this country for the…. Then, i moved on the another churches.. Anne Church and Sts. Francis and Bernardino…. I love this brick red!
Then i walked a really really long way to find a path to go to the hill of three crosses and passed by the following museum of applied arts which was revitalised from a monument and the arches on the architecture was preserved to label that this building was constructed in the renaissance. Walked 15mins up hill… this is the Hill of Three Crosses… i think the three crosses look better when i was looking at it from the city instead of on the hill.. I love the sky more….
