I did not and don't recall any of my friends doing so. I'll tell you - Gloria Jean Kvetko , the founder of 'Gloria Jean's Gourmet Coffee', a staple in most mid-western malls in the 80s and built a mall empire in the 90s through franchising.
Kvetko was 82 when she died on June 14 from pneumonia. Similar to Starbuck's in Seattle which opened in , GJCB offered a social setting where customers could order 'gourmet coffees' in a variety of flavors, after years of chugging down instant coffee. Starbucks was not offering flavored syrups in their coffee at the time, which set GJCB apart from the competition.
