This is a very nice hotel except that the service is robotic and there are prosititutes at the hotel. I saw two American tourists bring prostitutes to thier rooms. Apparently, since they reserved a double they are allowed to bring prostitues to thier room since they paid for it. At the same time, I wanted to invite a friend - not a prosittute to my room to have a bit - and since I only reserved a double the wouldnt allow it.
Be aware that this is not a great place for your family. There is prostitution here if you are willing to pay for a double. This place was a delight. My wife and I loved it. The hotel is located near the nightlife and alot of resturants in the area.
If you happend to stay here, walk to the Kacao resturant, very romantic place, it's less than a block away and have some delicious Guatemalan food and wine. The hotel staff was excellent. I was suppose to stay at the Clarion suites but our host put us in the Westin instead. This hotel was great. The staff was friendly, English was spoken well here. They have a large fitness center and a spinning room with bikes on the other side of the building on the same floor.
The breakfast and lunch buffetts were excellent each time. Beware, gratuity is always included in your food bill. There is no Starbucks here, because the coffee is excellent. I ordered room service once and got the kids hamburger and french fries and it was enough food for an adult. Lots of English speaking tv channels. The room was very chilly and we could not get the heat to come on so the staff provided a space heater for my room at night.

Money is exchanged at the front desk back for US dollars. Stamps sold in the lobby, but mail goes out only every days. Robes and slippers in the closet. Heavenly bed was heavenly. You need a room key to access the hotel floors on the elevator. There is a free shuttle to the airport. The airport is in downtown Guatemala City, so if you are at the pool, it is loud because of the jumbo jets taking off.
