Health is one big issue, both mental and physical. Mentally, I cope better in recuperating when I submerge myself in art and stay off social media for a while. I post my work on Instagram but rarely chit-chat. I do the painting, and M does most of the writing.
Again, we are sorry to hear of the two dear little souls, Ms. Hallie and Bungee, we lost. Our condolences to Christine and Lana. Our programs target children and youth who are struggling with mental health and behavioral challenges and their families. Nelson Youth Centres, using individual, family and group therapies, support the emotional, social and behavioral well being of children, youth and families while strengthening families in our community. The abandoned childrens fever hospital in Thornton Fife Scotland is a haunting reminder of the past.
It was opened in as an isolation hospital for patients with infectious diseases such as meningitis, diphtheria and scarlet fever1.
It later became a mental health institution for children, known as Strathmore hospital1. It closed down in when a new hospital was built in Dunfermline2. Since then, it has been left to decay and vandalism. These photographs show the eerie atmosphere of the place, with empty corridors, crumbling walls, and abandoned items. They also capture the contrast between the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape and the grim reality of the hospital.
The abandoned childrens fever hospital is a place where history and horror collide, creating a fascinating and unsettling scenery. Lockdown has a negative effect on children's and adolescent's mental health.
