There are at least 60 UK women killed and many more injured. We are extremely concerned by normalised violence against women in sex. Sophie was mum to two boys. She was bubbly, charming, hardworking. She died from suffocation, and had suffered cuts and fractures. Her boyfriend claimed to police that Anna had died in a sex game gone wrong, and his claim was widely reported in the UK press. He claimed at his trial for her murder that she asked him to strangle her. His identity was protected by court order during the trial. He did not seek medical help for Grace, and after killing her went on a date with another woman. He got done for manslaughter but it was really tough for him to see this woman he loved dying. The court also heard some evidence that he had been violent to other women, with one fearing she would die when he suffocated her during sex.
