I have recently published a poetry book called Love prostitute , and in this post I would like to say a few words about it. Even though, I was previously published in Croatia and one of my proudest moments was seeing my poems on pages 46 and 47 of the th edition of Zarez magazine which is dedicated to social and cultural happenings of Croatia, five years ago, I find this publication as significant as the one fore mentioned.
Love prostitute , much like the first time being published in a nation-wide magazine, is also a first for me; a first poetry assembly written both in Croatian language Prostitutka ljubavi and in English. If you take in consideration that Croatian language has three main dialects and numerous locals speeches, the number rises twice, trice or who knows how many times.
The same goes for Oxford dictionary which grows with every day that goes by. As personal as my poems are, they are not to be confused as a ventilation system where I unload my sorrows, melancholy or remorse, nor as a display of my emotional and spiritual moods. Of course they are somewhat just that, but foremost they are an exercise of erudition, logic and knowledge in book theory; they are a game — a maze if you will, or, even better, a puzzle of hidden meanings and subtext.
As an admirer of intertextuality theory which relies on a conviction that every text written by a certain author, contains within itself all the texts that that author has ever read and all the information that author has ever received through language and that the language itself is intertextual because its self-reflective, I find it a special interest of mine to be taking advantage of just that whilst writing.
She has loved. Actually she always loves. She loves the physical, within which she seeks joining with the divine and mystical.
