Have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Hotel Mediteran. We fell in love with Croatia three years ago. This was our third visit, but not to this particular resort.
We booked through Portland and was just as brochure described. I would give the hotel 4 stars as opposed to 3. The rooms have recently been redecorated, but the bathrooms could do with a make over, though they are clean and functional, just a little dated. Ideally situated to walk about 20 minutes or catch the water boat or the noddy train into Porec which has lots of cafe bars, ice cream parlours and shops. We either walked or jumped on boat most evenings to take in the bustling atmosphere enjoy a coffee and watch the world go by.
Then it was nice to go back to hotel which is in a quiet location. Food was good, buffet style something for every palate, added bonus of free wine, beer and soft drinks with evening meal. Weather was fantastic - 33 ish all week, and the hotel rooms have air conditioning which you can adjust yourself. The sea is crystal clear, and we spent most days snorkelling, it's another world down there!
We got quite excited when we spotted our first ever cuttlefish. All in all a really enjoyable holiday, and we will definately be returning. Visited here in as a young lad, a few generations before the Berlin Wall fell and when this hotel was still in communist Yugoslavia.
Returned with my wife in August and immediately the hotel felt very familiar. Some of decor seemed a little dated no, not still the stuff! See picture of meeting room - then you'll understand! Nonetheless, the hotel was very roomy and in very spacious grounds - made a pleasant change to sunbathe nestled between pine trees.
