Could I get some "helpful" comments about La Union I'm a middle-aged guy looking for possible places to hang out in for part of the year Thanks for your efforts in advance. Phil, I sent a reply to your PM, but just wanted to add that while ambots has a point re resorts with in house girly bar but doesn't say if he's stayed in any , there are other resorts without the "in house entertaiment". If you arrive in San Fernando proper where there are a couple of reasonable hotels , you could hire a trike and check out all the resorts along Buang Beach PS For ambots May The Blessings Be!
Ah yes, the Bali Hai It was quite nice then. Also another place nearby, began with a "C"? They played a lot of lawn bowls there. I stayed at the Southern Palms, which did have an in house girly bar. I did not partake of the lawn bowls myself. I was too tired after visiting resorts with girly bars! Hmmm, how old do you think I am then? Nile group will also up prices, that's for sure What I also found interesting about the La Union beach area, was the "war" the was been waged by the various resort managers.
The management of this particular establishment wanted everyone to charge the same amount per beer. The reason they wanted this was because every afternoon their bar which charged a certain price for beer , was empty.
Most people went to the "cheap charlie" bars at other resorts down the beach. Needless to say, no one agreed to that request. A friend of mine gave me a clipping from the Bangkok Post, about the resorts along the beach at Buang. I actually met this guy, but declined his offer of a cheaper beer at his place Check out my post about La union click here.
