This is a brothel, where Chinese ladies are charged 5 BD each, to enter the hotel by the side entrance and then given a voucher for a soft drink to "entertain" guests! The hotel also charges out rooms by the hour if required!!! It is fantastic if you are a single bloke looking for the company of a Chinese hooker, or a Saudi Arabian man, that has hopped accross the border from Saudi Arabia into Bahrain which is only 20 minutes away!
They all go to this hotel for women and alcohol, neither of which is available in Saudi Arabia. In fact, I met Arabic men from all over the Gulf States, who come here for "fun". My room was well appointed and I heard NO noise, from the 2nd floor, even though all hell was being let loose, in the 5 or 6 "entertainment" rooms below. Top recommendation is the Philipino rock band that play most nights.
Lovely high ceilings and good friendly Arabic experience. Gulf Air put me in this hotel after overbooking my flight. Really bad hotel. I think the only way they make money is through Gulf Air or sex workers. Room was pretty bad. Mattresses hard. Really old furniture. Food was best part of hotel. Buffet is good. Worst part is at night, this hotel turns into a brothel. Philipino sex workers being matched up with arab gulf men.
And the hotel was coordinating everything. There was some crazy stuff going on in that hotel at night. And restaurant music was very loud till 2am as other reviewers mentioend and you can hear it in your room.
Location of hotel is good. Right smack in the middle of Manama. But there are other, cleaner hotels who have that too. Never again. I booked through Expedia and was very pleased with the choice. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The room was a good size and the balcony had a great view across the city. The hotel was very clean with attractive traditional decor.
