In the s Dorothy and Ray heard the word of God and chose to serve him faithfully for the rest of their lives. Ray had a long career with Nabisco. He loved fishing and hunting in his free time. He had a passion for playing music on his fiddle or the piano. He possessed a love of history and enjoyed taking friends to Washington D.
Above all, Ray enjoyed talking with his friends and family. In September of , Ray married Maria Hartig. They resided in Mt. Airy, NC where Ray enjoyed playing bluegrass music with local friends.
