I stayed here for one night while on my travels. I expected it to be good as it was rated so highly but I was shocked at how dirty and seedy the hostel felt like. The rooms were dingy, small and smelly. I actually felt as though I was in a brothel! The showers and toilets were quite dirty and I was really uncomfortable using them. The general atmosphere of the place wasnt good. I would never ever go back here. I cannot believe the bedrooms were quite as bad as they were.
By far the worst hostel I have ever stayed in in my life! The room was seedy and a bit like a prison cell!!! With no air conditioning and ants and bugs everywhere!!
The only good thing about it was the kitchen was reasonably clean! Bar that I did not enjoy my stay there at all!! And the pool is disgusting! I booked this hostel as a few friends were stopping there. I was only here for 5 nights before traveling up North for farming. The hostel is big, but not sociable at all. The problem with this hostel is it has no common area, other than the next door bar Birdies.
So if your looking to socialize with other backpackers don't come here. Luckily I had a group of friends. This brings me to the rooms. My room was under the Jungle block for guests who aren't stopping over a week.
The room was big, but had no windows therefore very dark. The en suite was OK though. The problem with all rooms is they have dividers, which seems like a nice idea for privacy. The kitchen is a big size, but clearly people don't clean up after them selves and the staff seems none existence. The plus is you get a free meal 4 times a week at the bar which is a decent size.
